Anakin gently knocked on Master Yoda's door. He didn't think his matter was acute, but, well the visions were distracting in their bizarreness and showed up every time he closed his eyes.
The door opened, unleashing a mass of warm, humid air into Anakin's face. He regretted not arranging to meet Master Yoda elsewhere as he tried to remember how to breathe air that had not been scrubbed of excess moisture as it passed through recyclers a thousand times.
"Tea, do you want?" Master Yoda asked.
Obi-Wan had warned Anakin of Master Yoda's tea so many times Anakin had never actually tasted it. "Sure." It wasn't like it could make him any more nauseous.
Master Yoda puttered about his kitchen arranging tea leaves. The room and all its appliances were done on a smaller scale than normal, though not quite as diminutive as Anakin might've expected. Then again, human-scale furniture was commonly loaded into all the prefab printer modules, while species larger or smaller had to make due with something close enough, and Master Yoda had the Force to bring him the tea mugs from the top shelf.
A few minutes later, Anakin was staring at a yellow liquid in a celadon green mug. He sipped it. It was surprisingly tolerable.
"Something on your mind, there was?"
Anakin set the cup down. "Yes, actually." He took a breath as he considered how to best phrase it. "I've been having ... visions, lately," he started haltingly. "Every time I close my eyes. I've had visions before, but those were of things that could happen, while these are more ... metaphorical, I guess?"
Master Yoda hummed. "And always the same vision, it is?"
"Not ... really?" Anakin went through his memories again. "It's always the same sort of ... theme, I guess, but sometimes I'm in the Room of a Thousand Fountains, sometimes in the Halls of Healing, sometimes in my room, and the people around me change. So it's a set of related visions."
"And sure you are, that dreams these are not?"
"Yes, Master Yoda."
Master Yoda hummed again. "Indeed. Dream, a Jedi does not. A common theme to these visions, you mentioned?"
Anakin winced. He'd hoped he wouldn't have to explain it, but trust Master Yoda to ask the uncomfortable question. He sipped his tea to delay. "All of them have me ... pregnant, I think? Not that that could happen, I don't have the organs for that, but that does it mean? Am I going to find an initiate? Get Ahsoka back?"
"So sure, you are, that pregnant you are not," Master Yoda tutted.
"I haven't had sex in over seven months!" Anakin objected. "And it's not like you can make a baby alone."
"Need help, your mother did not," Master Yoda said with altogether too much cheer. Anakin wanted to strangle him. "Need help, you may not, either."
"I still don't have a womb, so I can't incubate a child," Anakin pointed out. He took another sip of the tea. It was better than the stuff Obi-Wan served. Maybe Obi-Wan just had a terrible taste in tea, not that Anakin would ever say that to him.
Master Yoda stared at him consideringly. "Meditated on this matter, have you? Changes to your body, have you noticed?"
"No, I-" Anakin gave in with a sigh. "Sure, we can meditate on it."
Master Yoda made a pleased sound and closed his eyes. Anakin sighed again and arranged himself into a meditation pose.
As always, Coruscant screamed in his ear the moment his attention slipped, but today's assignment was to look at himself rather than try to connect with the universe, so he let go of that and focused inward. The Force sighed under his touch as he ran through his tissues. A few bruises from the adventure on the Invisible Hand, a ligament of the knee that needed a bit of rest, the scar tissue on his right arm could do with some moisturizer, the usual.
Then he turned his attention to his midriff and noticed that there was something there. The Force, midichlorians, a whole presence slowly separating from him, and-
"Master Yoda?" he asked, voice higher in pitch than it had been since puberty.
"With child, you are," Master Yoda replied. "A happy day, this is."
"Um."
Then Master Yoda walked over to Anakin's side and patted his stomach. "Strong with the Force, the child will be. Happy to have her, the Jedi will be."
A bit of prodding the Force revealed that his child would indeed be a daughter. "Oh." Anakin drank some more tea and tried not to freak out. He failed. "I think I'm going to faint."
Master Yoda replied something, but as Anakin was busy fainting, he missed it. He did not want to deal with this.
